Baba Yaga

Early 1900s Sheer Mutton Sleeve Shirtwaist

Absolutely show-stopping, circa. 1890 to early 1900s sheer, organza blouse! Handmade, with huge mutton sleeves, black velvet piping, ruffled collar and hook and eye closures.

When this gem first graced the shop the liner was in a state of disrepair so, after a little reworking, I freed the organza overlay, saved the original hook and eye closures and reattached them by hand; and I couldn’t be happier with the result! The airiness of the fabric and the bit of shine refracted off the baby blue stripes make this piece feel so magical and dreamy.

Note: This item is over 100 years old and should be handled carefully when washing.
